10 Signs That Your Employees Hate You As a Manager

Let’s finally admit it: knowing whether your employees love you or not isn't our first priority as long as they do their work properly and in time, right? Actually, it’s totally wrong.

Numerous studies showed that a friendly and happy workforce is directly linked to the productivity. If your team members do like what they do and feel you like your job, they are much more likely to feel committed to their work. In the vice versa situation they feel disengaged and tend to leave the position and company for a better workplace. For sure, such turnover has a drastic impact on the organization and significantly decreases staff’s productivity.

So how do you find out when your employee might hate you? Here’re several useful tips:

They avoid you

They do their best to avoid you at all costs and they manage to find excuses to skip a meeting with you. They even cross to the other side of the street only not to speak with you. This is one of the most obvious and clear indicator that the problem does exist.

They don’t maintain eye contact with you

You know how it’s difficult to look into the eyes of a person you’re angry with. The same principle goes with the staff, moreover, hiding eyes may mean that an employee is afraid that you can detect hostility.

They leave early

You can meet them at the door right at 5. If employees don’t like the atmosphere at the workplace they simply strive to leave as soon as possible.

They don’t smile when you’re nearby

The point is not about occasional mood swings. If your staff members look miserable every time you appear somewhere nearby, while you see them laughing with other people, something is definitely going wrong.

They are not enthusiastic as they were before

If the employees’ level of enthusiasm has waned, and you don’t observe their readiness to help out on new or existing projects anymore, it may be a pretty big red flag.

They’re short with you

They definitely try to minimize communications with you if you can’t receive a detailed answer on a simple question or if their emails get straight to the point, this may be a sign that they don’t a dream team member for them.

They constantly disagree with you

If you find that your employees seem more difficult and disagreeable, you should definitely pay attention to that. They may do that in the hopes to see changes.

They call in sick a lot

Your staff members seem indifferent to whether they’re going to be running out of sick time and in fact, there seems to be in an all-out competition in the department to see who can drain the bank first.

Be attentive to your employees, learn what they want to and find how they feel about you and about their work as a whole. How to do that? It’s simple: create a special survey to learn about your staff’s current state of mind. Use How R U? app’s Quiz and Mood features! Details are indicated below:
